Sports Coaching

We all have busy lives with most of us still dreaming of a goal or target that we aspire to achieve.  This may be to lose weight or possibly to get fitter so you can walk up a mountain or complete park-run.  For others this may be more extreme; run a marathon or even compete at a specific level in an Ironman Triathlon.

What are your training goals?

Our goals are all individual to ourselves and are a challenge that we can target.  To succeed needs dedication and commitment, with a plan that acts as our route to achievement.

Our main specialist sport is triathlon with its individual disciplines of swimming, cycling and running.  Each of these has its own set of techniques, skills and stresses; and training for the sport is not as simple as training each individual discipline on its own.  The correct balance of training helps time management and improve performance.

All of these are best achieved through undertaking a structured regime of training that prepare you and your body for the challenge ahead.  The structure is designed to gradually and progressively build your fitness and strength so that by the time you get to the day of the challenge, you are fully ready and prepared.

In addition to the physical preparation; other factors also play a part in what you need to do to make sure you achieve your goal.  It may relate to the nutritional programme you need to follow; possibly it may be learning or improving a particular skill.

Coaching is a term used for the provision of advice, guidance and instruction so that you can learn and acquire all the knowledge, skill and experience you need to succeed in your quest.  It can be provided in lots of different ways depending on what needs to be taught or learnt.

At Craven Complete, our coaching takes several forms

Skill School Sessions

Practical group sessions primarily Triathlon based designed to teach the skills and drills needed to get better at a particular activity.  Currently, we provide these for swimming (mainly open water) and cycling, however, we are aiming to develop these into pool swimming, running and strength and conditioning.  Due to its nature, adequate numbers are required in order to run these sessions – please contact us to show an interest.

Workshops

Workshops are more theoretical but do have a practical component but are also aimed at groups and specific topics or areas.  These can extend from how to prepare for winters training and nutrition, to more specific topics like performance development in a particular sport.

Triathlon Training Camps

These combine all of the above into a condensed camp that covers analysis, interpretation and training as well as workshops all at the same time.  Currently, our camps are organised and run in Lanzarote (what better place!), so you can enjoy a break in the sun and get coached at the same time.

Personalised Plans and Bespoke Training Programmes

Rather than working in groups, maybe you would rather something that is more personalised and prepared for you. These are a little more specific in nature and cover areas such as Prescribed nutritional and/or training plans, individual skill sessions, event preparation and; well anything that your not sure about.

Craven Complete Community

A community of like-minded people all of who want to challenge themselves but be part of a social group to share the experience. The community is a place to speak to, or even meet and work with, others who share your passion and goal so making the hard work a little easier. You will also have priority and discounted access to the above, forums and much more more.
